Существует еще один способ определения безопасной дистанции: расстояние до впереди идущего транспортного средства должно быть равно половине скорости вашего движения.
Если честно, то данный способ больше подходит для математического моделирования, решения задач по определению безопасной дистанции в теории, на практике же все это крайне неэффективно. Представьте сами: начинающему водителю (а вы как раз таким и являетесь, если купили эту книгу) нужно определить две величины: примерное расстояние в метрах до впереди идущего автомобиля и примерную скорость движения. Первую величину иногда не могут определить даже опытные водители с отличным зрением — некоторым кажется, что до препятствия, скажем, 5 метров, а на самом деле 4. А этот метр может сыграть решающую роль!
То же самое и со скоростью — не каждый может точно определить ее. Наверное, любой водитель современной иномарки был примерно в такой ситуации: не успел тронуться с места, а уже 80−100 км/ч, и тут перед глазами мелькает знак 40! А когда держишь 40, то кажется, что плетешься как черепаха. К скорости привыкаешь очень быстро, да и современные иномарки скрадывают ее чувство. На трассе можно так увлечься разгоном, особенно когда нет дорожных столбов и деревьев вдоль нее, что и сам не заметишь, как машина преодолеет рубеж в 200 км/ч.
Спрашивается, а зачем тогда спидометр? Вообще это устройство — довольно полезная штука, но когда речь идет о безопасной дистанции, то параллельно рассматривается тема критической ситуации. Сомневаюсь, что в момент экстренного торможения вы будете смотреть на спидометр. И постоянно смотреть на спидометр тоже не будешь — это отвлекает от дороги, поэтому очень важно выработать в себе чувство скорости. Оно приходит не сразу, а по мере привыкания к автомобилю. Как правило, в маленьких автомобильчиках скорость чувствуется лучше, чем в больших. Например, на своем я могу легко разогнаться до 200 км/ч (и больше) и ехать с этой скоростью, а на Opel Astra 1.4 мне и 140 км/ч страшно развивать на наших дорогах!
Рассмотрим вопрос о безопасной дистанции подробнее. Наверное, все видели в фильмах водителей-асов, которые гоняют на огромных скоростях с дистанцией всего в полметра. Как у них это получается? При том, что все живы-здоровы, а машины даже не поцарапаны!
Нам кажется, что эти люди (понятно, что не актеры, а каскадеры, трюкачи) — мастера высочайшего пилотажа, и простым смертным не дано так ездить. Вы заблуждаетесь. Нет, я не отрицаю того, что трюкачи — отменные водители. Реакция для того, чтобы проделать такое, действительно должна быть отличной. Но не более того. Чтобы держать дистанцию в полметра, нужна всего лишь примерно одинаковая скорость автомобилей — иначе или дистанция увеличится, или задний автомобиль обгонит (или «догонит») первый.
На самом деле намного проще въехать кому-нибудь в бампер на скорости 60 км/ч, казалось бы, соблюдая нормальную дистанцию, чем на скорости 200 км/ч, даже если дистанция между автомобилями будет всего полметра. Почему? Да потому что для этого «лидеру» нужно остановиться как вкопанному, а согласно действующим законам физики это невозможно! Даже если лидер нажмет педаль тормоза до упора. В этом случае водитель сзади идущего авто сделает то же самое, и при скорости в 200 км/ч и расстоянии в полметра накопится разность скоростей аж в 10 км/ч! Такой же будет разница и при замедлении со скорости 30 км/ч. Ничего сверхъестественного — обычная физика.
Можно привести формулы и расчеты, но нет никакого смысла перегружать книгу. Поверьте на слово, а если не хотите — считайте сами.
Чуть не забыл про самое главное. В ситуации, когда возможно столкновение транспортных средств (хоть автомобилей, хоть катеров, хоть самокатов), важна не скорость движения отдельного транспортного средства, а так называемая относительная скорость, то есть скорость движения одной машины относительно другой!
Сейчас опять вернемся к физике. Честно говоря, я ее сам не любил, но теперь приходится разбираться, поскольку без этого нельзя даже научиться водить автомобиль. Итак, представим, что каждый автомобиль — это устойчивая система. Чтобы вывести систему из устойчивого состояния, нужно воздействовать на нее, к примеру, другой системой, то есть другим автомобилем. Если сила действия небольшая — скажем, неровности на дороге, наша система сохраняет описанное состояние. Но если сила действия превысит так называемую критическую точку, то система выйдет из состояния устойчивости. То есть когда
удар происходит на небольшой скорости (сила действия небольшая), ничего страшного, кроме попорченного бампера, вас не ожидает. А вот если удар произошел на большой скорости, тогда велика вероятность, что система выйдет из состояния устойчивости — автомобиль потеряет управление. Чем это грозит, понимаете сами.
Я вам желаю никогда не попадать в аварию и вообще не знать, что это такое. Когда-то я попал в аварию, хорошо иллюстрирующую наш разговор. Вроде бы расстояние до попутного авто было достаточным, на секунду отвлекся, и... Попутный автомобиль стремительно начал приближаться, ничего не помогло — ни отличные тормоза, ни правильная техника торможения. Просто уже было поздно. А причина тому — не только неправильно выбранная дистанция, но и психологическая инерция. Глаз человека при движении плохо определяет расстояние. Кстати, тогда я все же успел затормозить. Точнее, почти успел — бампер все же пришлось ремонтировать.
Нужно отметить, что при ограниченной видимости (дождь, туман, снег) глаз еще хуже воспринимает расстояние, поэтому нужно быть предельно осторожным. И еще не известно, как лучше ехать: самостоятельно, когда впереди ничего не видно, или в составе колонн, сформировавшихся из попутных машины, когда различим впереди идущий автомобиль. Ведь лидер-то колонны ничего не видит; если в условиях ограниченной видимости вы различаете попутную машину, то расстояние между вами маленькое. Следовательно, имеется вероятность попасть в «паровозик», когда один автомобиль «догоняет» второй, тот — третий и т. д.
