Сцепление нужно отпускать плавно. Существует такое понятие, как свободный ход педали сцепления: при нажатии примерно до У4 хода педали можно считать, что вы на нее вообще не нажимали — реакции не будет. Аналогично после того, как вы отпустили педаль на ¾, дальше уже все равно как ее отпускать, медленно или быстро. Поэтому примерно ¾ хода педали нужно отпускать плавно, а затем — как захочется. Так же плавно следует нажимать педаль газа. Для того чтобы машина плавно тронулась с места (при условии ее исправности), достаточно 1500 оборотов в минуту. Совсем не обязательно крутить двигатель до 3000 оборотов, чтобы машина тронулась с места. В таком режиме ваше сцепление отправится на металлолом намного раньше, чем вы рассчитывали.
Сцепление многих иномарок (при условии, что машина была куплена вами новой, — иначе вы никак не узнаете, кто и как ездил) способно выдержать пробег в 80−120 000 км при бережном отношении. Но если часто трогаться на повышенных оборотах, резко бросать сцепление при переключении передач, весь узел сцепления придется менять уже через 30−40 000 км, а может быть, и раньше. Вообще «убить» сцепление можно очень быстро, однако наша же задача — сохранить его в здравии на тысячи километров. Средняя стоимость всего комплекта сцепления на обычную иномарку составляет 300−600 долларов (без стоимости работы). Эту сумму, без сомнения, можно потратить с большей пользой.
